Photl.com is an online resource for free stock photography. The images offered are high resolution, studio quality shots, and can be used for personal or even commercial projects. Image use is quite flexible, but as always, read the licencing for more information.
The web interface is minimalistic and to the point, and the image thumbnails are large enough to get a good view without additional clicks. One cool feature is a color wheel that allows you to filter results by color.
On the minus side, many searches do not bring results yet… I guess the database is still in its infancy and needs some growth. I could only find still life so far, though this instantly solves any issue of model release.
Just like Life magazine’s photography archive presented last month, this address is a handy addition to your graphic design toolbox.
